In The Rhythm
Storytelling and Drumming
Carol is a storyteller and percussionist often weaving these two art forms together. She has worked in professional community theatre for many years as a storyteller, performer, and percussionist. She is drawn to stories and rhythms rooted in memory, in the land, and to those voices less heard that are there if only for the listening.
Carol is an experienced facilitator, teacher, and trainer. She performs storytelling for both adults and children. She performs regularly at WOMAD festival in The World of Children with interactive stories incorporating rhythm and has recently performed as part of The Scottish International Storytelling Festival.
Carol continues to run regular drum and percussion workshops in Moray and across The Highlands and works collaboratively with other performers and musicians as well as her own solo work. Carol is a member of the Scottish Storytelling Forum and currently is the musician for the Dance For Parkinson`s project at Eden Court in Inverness.
Carol is working in:
Rhythm events
Carnival projects
Storytelling sessions for adults and children
Classes and workshops
Performance projects
Training sessions in storytelling and rhythm facilitation
One to one tuition sessions

Your thought and care in preparation and your wonderful delivery of both live and recorded sessions which you do for us at Artsplay Highland means that your sessions are always so well received.
I have just spent a lovely morning watching your videos… the local element to the stories is wonderful.
…it was a team effort and was a resounding success because the children worked so well together and with Carol
I have attended the class for over a year and my drumming has improved a lot. Carol is an excellent teacher and makes her groups accessible to all from the complete beginner to more advanced drummers.
I would recommend the class it is so much fun.

ORAL STORIES FASCINATE ME – STORIES THAT MOVE AND CHANGE AND COME ALIVE IN THE TELLING. HOW TO TELL A STORY IS STILL AN ENDLESS EXPLORATION FOR ME. I ENJOY COLLABORATION, WORKING WITH MUSICIANS OR OTHER TELLERS.
