Rhythm Day in Forres on 18th August 2019.
Session for young Children in the morning followed by the afternoon session with adults in the afternoon.
The adult`s session offers an opportunity to go deeper into the rhythms. We will look at feeling the rhythm in your body, and through some games and exercises and how to listen and express yourself on the instrument. Through some improvisations and some playing of traditional rhythms we will play interlocking parts in a group setting. Teas and coffees including herb teas and biscuits will be provided in the break. We will then come together to play a mixture of drums and percussion in an arranged piece that we create in the day, with song and movement where appropriate. Satisfying uplifting and fun. Suitable for all levels and abilities including beginners.

As well as conducting the choir and arranging the songs, one of her award compositions will be played. I shall be playing conga / percussion accompaniment as well as telling a story – one I heard from the late Scottish Traveller Stanley Robinson :
Jack and The Dancing Oak Tree – a tale of greed, of tuning in to nature, otherworldly happenings and a touch of a love story thrown in – all in a 15 min story!
Tickets on sale – contact myself if you are interested.
